Our Prince

Mad Jax

I'd like to introduce our second born Madden Jax Parsons. He was quite the surprise, a little souvenir from our trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in the spring of 2014. Ryan and I both wanted a boy so badly and God heard our prayers! Maddy was born on February 4, 2015 at 1:13 p.m. weighing in at a whopping 10 lbs 15 oz and measuring 21 inches long! What a hulk! He is my big baby boy. Love is in the air.

First Bath

Madden's umbilical cord finally fell off and I was super excited to take him his first bath.  He did get cleaned up while in the hospital but this is the first time he was fully immersed in water!  Needless to say he hated it.

We Go Home

We are both being released today.  Thankfully St. Joseph kept me inpatient the entire time Madden was in the NICU so I wouldn't suffer the burden of having to come to and from the hospital from home.  The prognosis was the air bubble subsided on it's own (THANK GOD) and after several examinations from different doctor's, Maddy was given a clean bill of health and we are free!!!  I'd like to thank CHOC NICU team of nurses and doctor's who cared for my little baby.  It killed me to see him and other babies hooked up to all these machines.  I'm thankful for all they have done for us!

Scariest Day of My Life

It's going on day 3 and I'm still in the hospital recovering.  I fainted yesterday due to the extreme pain on my incision from the surgery.  My husband and other family members noticed Madden was breathing irregularly.  The nurses took him to run some testing and the next thing I know they said he must be transferred to Choc NICU as he suffers from Congenital Pneumothorax.  TEARS!!! I don't know what that is and seeing my baby get hauled away to a different hospital I'm so lost.   Apparently, he developed an air bubble, we assume during the delivery process, that surrounded the lung causing him to work overtime to take a breath.  MY POOR BABY!!! I've never experienced anything like this and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.  My husband and I cried like babies.

The Day

Madden was scheduled for delivery via C-Section at St. Joseph Hospital in the city of Orange.  The same hospital his sister was delivered at as well.  We checked in and before we knew it he was here!

I on the other hand wasn't doing very well.  I had very bad nausea and the surgery experience didn't treat me well this time.  However, the joy of my little boy in this world surpassed any discomforts I was currently having.
